She/Her
Hi, my name is Kaya. I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety in sixth grade and later diagnosed with ADHD. I started public speaking and writing as a way of coping in seventh grade and eventually started posting about mental health advocacy on Instagram. I was a part of a peer-to-peer suicide prevention group throughout all four years of high school. Junior year I struggled with clinical depression and suicidal ideation, which was the hardest thing I had ever been through. I got involved in Kaiya because I love the message and know we are so capable of making a change and ending the stigma around mental health.
